Well we were up and organised, made it to the ferry with time to spare, but we had overcast drizzly weather so no sunrise photos that we were hoping for. We let Bentley out of car and took him on the deck, he took two steps and froze, no way was he going to walk on this deck, he could feel the vibration from the engine, I carried him but he wasn't happy, shaking and it was cold on the deck so we but him back in the car and went into the warmth of the lounge, got ourselves a coffee and sat back to enjoy the ride.
When we got to Sorrento we thought we would have a breakfast, but it was to early for Sorrento so we drove to Rye and had a Bacon and egg roll with a pot of tea. The towns look lovely, but couldn't find any where to camp that would allow dogs, the further we travelled up the peninsula the bigger the towns got, with Kmart and Target stores. We stopped in Mornington and they found a park on the Western side at Stony Point that allowed dogs, we arrived here at lunch time and were both feeling a bit tired, the sun shone for a little while and we had a Kookaburra sit on the tree outside our van. We will explore tomorrow but Brian has looked at the fishing and no one is catching at the moment. An easy pasta and tomato dish for tea.

Exploring
Today we decided we would pop down to ferry terminal to see about booking, prices etc and ended up staying there for over an hour, lovely marina, cafe's etc, so had coffee watched ferry leave and found out cost, if we go on the 7 or 8am ferry with the van it is a bit cheaper, will end up with van about $90. By that time it was close to lunch so we had fish and chips on the foreshore (seniors discount) and then drove to Barwon Heads where Seachange was filmed, drove back through Port Lonsdale another lovely little place, we have found Queenscliff and surrounds a great place, weather has been mild, we take Bentley most places, don't leave him in the car, so by the end of the day he is quite worn out.
Our plan is to pack up as much as we can tonight so in the morning it's a case of getting up, cup of tea, hitch up the van and off to the ferry, it's is 10 mins away and we have to be at ferry 20 mins before sailing, we hope to get the 7 am ferry on the basis if we are too late there is always the 8 am, you will have to stay tuned to see if the plan works. Bentley can stay in the car on the ferry or he is allowed on the outside decks, not sure yet where we leave him, strange to think he has no idea what is in store for him tomorrow

Travel Day
After a day at camp and trip to the beach for Bentley yesterday, we packed up and headed off today. We stopped at Torquay for a coffee and a walk around the shops and then we headed to Queenscliff and camped at caravan park/sports ground, good site with good amenities, $37 a night with 10 % off for us seniors. After lunch of sour dough bread which we bought in Torquay we walked into town, looks a lovely place, lots of nice shops/coffee shops/op shops. We haven't been down to marina or ferry yet.
Tea tonight is marinated chicken and salad cooked by my resident cook, Bentley is looking tired after a walk into town and his beach time yesterday, oh and Brian managed to get a hair cut in Queenscliff for $15, it's my turn next for a hair cut and Bentley is next on the list......

End of daylight saving and end of Great Ocean Rd
Well daylight saving ended today and it feels more normal, woke up at 6.15am and we were out seeing the last of the Great Ocean Rd before 9am, we had a quick drive back towards Lorne for a few photos and then turned east to Anglesea, the road changes now and is more normal rd with occasional ocean views, after coffee and a walk around Anglesea, there was a triathlon on, so very busy we drove to Torquay, the road now like a highway after the windy close to the ocean rd of before, Torquay big and busy, may visit later on a weekday. They say the Great Ocean Rd starts in Torquay but I feel the scenic and beauty of the rd starts at Airey Inlet where we are now, so it seems we have come to the end of Great Ocean Rd and have to say we have enjoyed our wander up and down, tomorrow we are having a rest day here deciding on where to head next. We are out to tea tonight at the 60's Diner, may post some photos of that later.

Aireys Inlet
Packed up this morning ready to head further down the road to Aireys Inlet, stopped at markets in Apollo Bay and bought some choc brownies before we headed of down the winding road. Traffic busy today as its Saturday and saw lots of sports cars with their tops down. Arrived Aireys about lunch time, set up and headed out for an explore, there are Top shops and Bottom shops, nice looking 60's diner at bottom shops, they have hot dogs, milk shakes and upstairs a great looking diner, may get chance to try it out, some nice looking coffee shops too. Took Bentley to the beach and he went mad running around, in the water etc, walked up to the lighthouse and by that time it was a late lunch at camp and rest before showers.
Brian is cooking himself a steak tonight, I am having chicken sausage, both with salad

Cuddly Koala
We went to Kennett river today had a coffee at the shop, nice, relaxing in the sunshine and then 4 tour buses turned up one after the other, they all spilled out of the buses, heading for the nearest tree for Koala's or into the shop, I was glad we had had our coffee first, I told a Japanese lady Bentley was a Koala not a dog, she said "cute"
We took a walk and drive around the area, not many Koala's but lovely area, back at camp we had a late lunch and then shop for supplies, we intend to camp at Aireys Inlet tomorrow for a couple of nights, nearly at the end of the Great Ocean Rd. we have enjoyed our stop in Apollo Bay
